NRMA uses city’s expo as template

MAY I congratulate the Tamworth Regional Council and its citizens on the outstanding Tamworth Young Driver’s Expo held at the TRECC last week, which I had the pleasure of attending.

After 12 years it just gets better. Tamworth is very fortunate that it has wonderful facilities at the TRECC which many regional centres do not have. My interest as the local NRMA Director is to see if other centres can undertake a similar program.

NRMA has copied your program and now has a Road Trauma Expo over three days in Sydney attracting 12,000 senior students from 110 schools across the State.

All new and potential drivers who are lucky enough to have the experience of learning about their responsibility behind the wheel will be better road users of the future.

The enthusiasm of road safety officer Karina Errington and her volunteer team goes beyond expectation, along with the generous support of local business. I urge them to keep up the financial support. It is an excellent road safety program which I strongly support.

Graham Blight
