Lunchtime Saturday, peak traffic, Kable Ave. At a time when our councillors are pilloried at every opportunity, one of our leading civic members strode down Bourke St to Kable Ave, ignoring traffic, his mind on one thing: shepherding the ducks to the riverbank. Bravo.

If ducks and wildlife get a vote at the next Tamworth Regional Council elections, he’s a shoo-in (the same applies to all lovers of feather and fur). In all seriousness, it was a heartwarming sight.
