Dial and donate, it's not too late

WITH the colder weather upon us again the usual requests from the Red Cross Blood Service for more people to donate or begin to donate blood go out.

Many regular donors come down with colds or flu and so cannot give whilst affected. Time given is well rewarded knowing that your generous donation can help many others, sometimes in lifesaving operations and the like.

Many young people from the high schools need to be commended in making the effort to become donors and a friendly competition is conducted between those schools each year. This past year of 2007/08 Barraba, Calrossy, Carinya, Farrer, Gunnedah, Manilla, McCarthy, Narrabri, Oxley, Peel, William

Cowper, St Mary’s and Tamworth between them have made 873 blood donations.

Those of you who have often thought of becoming a donor could not have a better opportunity than now to take the next step.

All you have to do is phone 131495 or 6766 7422. Now that’s not too hard, is it?
