Calling Quirindi High Year 10, 1988

11/07/2008 9:02:00 AM
IN 1988 Princess Diana and Prince Charles visited Australia, Expo ’88 was held in Brisbane and the first episode of Home and Away went to air. The number one song of the year was Need You Tonight by INXS and Poison, Guns and Roses, Whitney Houston, Billy Ocean, Michael Jackson, Def Leppard, George Michael, Bon Jovi, Gloria Estefan and Miami Sound Machine were all on the radio. The Iran-Iraq war ended, the summer Olympics were in Seoul, South Korea and a cyclone in Bangaldesh left five million people homeless and thousands dead. It was also a year of perms, mullets and questionable fashion.

Twenty years later, we are calling on all the 1988 Year 10 students from Quirindi High School to come together on Saturday, July 26, for an informal reunion dinner at the Terminus Hotel.

We have tried to find as many of you as possible on school friends website and Facebook, but we are also hoping that a few people or their parents might read the paper and pass on this message.

Come along at 6pm and catch up with old friends! It would also be great if you could bring along some of your 1988 photos so we can reminisce about the good old days.

Please RSVP by emailing broo

kermarshall@hotmail.com or give me a call on my mobile

0414 336 776.
