POLICE are refusing to comment on whether or not the death of a middle-aged man, whose body was found in Dumaresq Creek at Armidale, is being treated as suspicious.

The unidentified body was discovered in the creek under Stephens Bridge on Marsh St about 11.45am yesterday.

A crime scene was established and specialist police were at the scene for most of the afternoon.

A Police Media Unit spokesperson told The Leader a post mortem of the body would be conducted to determine the cause of death.
